　　Sustainable Regionalism: An Emerging Spatial Framework for Managing the Expansion of Metropolitan Landscapes

　　Population and economic growth worldwide has exacerbated urban sprawl, fragmentation of landscapes, environmental degradation, social and economic inequities, homogeneity of regional cultural values and erosion of local sense of place, and the dislocation of viable neighborhoods. This presentation examines sustainable regionalism as one way to manage metropolitan growth in the United States. Sustainable regionalism is the integrated creation, revitalization, and restoration of neighborhoods, villages, and cities within a region from a regionally-based sustainable perspective. The outputs of sustainable regionalism are interconnected place-specific compact neighborhoods. What sustainable regionalism is, its key features, and promise for managing metropolitan landscapes, comprise the subjects of this presentation.

　　Low Impact Development: Stormwater Management with Multidisciplinary Approach(低沖擊開發(fā)：跨領(lǐng)域之暴雨管理)

　　李明翰博士將介紹美國已發(fā)展20余年的低沖擊開發(fā)（Low Impact Development）概念和應(yīng)用，將從暴雨管理（Stormwater Management）的基本談起，回顧美國過去一百年在法令和規(guī)定的演進(jìn)，再進(jìn)一步介紹低沖擊開發(fā)的觀念、技術(shù)及其跨領(lǐng)域的特質(zhì)。在報(bào)告完低沖擊開發(fā)之后，如果時(shí)間允許，將以美國得克薩斯州The Woodlands新城開發(fā)的案例，特別介紹其具有前瞻性的生態(tài)規(guī)劃（Ecological Planning）手段和該城在暴雨管理的成果。
